Hey Amanda,
Good Luck with starting, i am sure you'll love the course :) Are you all organised yet, I remember my first day and I was so nervous and I didn't have a clue where I was going and I walked into the wrong lecture theatre LOL. I have heard that Dundee Uni is really good. I studied in Aberdeen but am now in Glasgow. Anyway good luck and you can drop me a message if you want any advice about starting :)

Hey, thanks very much, both of you :) I am not at all organised but then i dont really know what to buy. I bought the student nurse handbook at the start of the summer hols and also the nurses guide to the ward which i was told was meant to be quite helpful, but with regards to the general things such as a bag (which size?) folders (would normal ringbinders do or would i need the big thick ones? Also how many will i need etc) will i need a calculator? lol. I am just so nervous at the moment as well but i'm sure that once i get started i will be fine (hopefully).

Certainly uni wise it can vary what size of bag and folder you need because I've got people in my class who take a handbag and carry a notebook and that's it, right to the people who carry three or four bags and a rucksack LOL guess it is as long as you feel comfortabel and organised or prepared. Don't think you'll need a calculator, think you'll only need that if you've got classes on drug caluclations but hey you'll know better than me, and if you forget one and you get up needing one you could always use your mobile. Think my first couple of days I took far too much stuff including a pencil case (that was soon ditched LOL). But one thing that I have found useful is an academic diary, although you don't have to rush out and buy one, it's only if you think you would use it. I found mine really useful to organise my placement dates and assessment dates. And also I prefered to write out my timetable myself, I didn't see the point of knowing different classes.
Any woo, you seem really organised don't think i'd ever thought of buying books, so fab you seem to really be on track. Bet your getting really excited, think the excitement has worn off for me and i've only been back three days!
Take care, best of luck and enjoy it!
Zoe :)
