Hi my name is Louisa and I start Adult nursing on 9th September!
I aplied through clearing and only had my interview on Monday, and was told I have a place On Monday. So everything is a bit rushed as you can see!
I live in Scotland so I am looking for advice on the whole process of the bursary, I know it is a diff process in England as some advice from fellow nurses/students from down south has confused me a little
So far I went on the SAAS website and applied online for the nursing bursary. I then printed of the covering letter to send to them with my offer letter(which i am still waiting on through the post)Have i done it correctly???
Also how long do you reckon its going to take-I really could do with it by 1st October at latest! Also I have tried to contact uni for help and to push things forward a bit faster-to get my offer letter ASAP to get the ball rolling but its not happening.
Oh and I know everyone is in the same boat when they start nursing, unless they did access course-I feel like its more the essay part thqts worrying me as i ahvent written an essay for 5 years and it was at hnd level not university!!

The process of applying to saas you have described seems correct and as far as I am aware nursing students are dealt with by a separate department within saas to speed up the application process, hopefully you will get your money by October. If I remember correctly I got my award letter through in 3 weeks of sending my application off.
As for the work load don't worry about the level of writing at this stage as it increases as you progress through the years i.e.
Year 1 is at HNC level
Year 2 and 3 Diploma at HND level or Year 2 and 3 at degree level.
You'll do fine since you have already written at HND level, just make sure your referencing it top notch.
Hope this help.
